TJX Companies awards $10,000 grant to David Lawrence Centers to support middle school prevention programming

David Lawrence Centers for Behavioral Health (DLC), Collier County’s only comprehensive, not-for-profit behavioral health provider, has received a $10,000 grant from TJX Companies to support Rooted to Rise, a middle school prevention program.
Rooted to Rise is a positive skill-building program for middle school-age youth that supports healthy decision-making, emotional awareness and positive peer relationships. Through engaging, age-appropriate presentations, workshops and activities, students build emotional intelligence, practice respectful conflict resolution and develop confidence in resisting negative peer pressure while making decisions that support their well-being and long-term success.
“This grant will directly fund impactful programming for 200 local students,” said Jasmine Pagano, supervisor of wellness programs at David Lawrence Centers. “Through their investment in Rooted to Rise, TJX is helping young people build the skills and resilience they need to navigate life’s challenges and thrive both in and out of the classroom.”
Prevention and early education are key components of strengthening long-term community wellness. By equipping students with tools to manage emotions, build healthy relationships and make informed choices, Rooted to Rise helps reduce risk factors associated with future behavioral health challenges.
For more than 55 years, DLC has been committed to ensuring behavioral health care is available to everyone in need through education, prevention, intervention and treatment. DLC delivers care throughout the community through six distinct centers of operation, including: emergency services; children and young adult services; adult services; addiction recovery; awareness and prevention; and virtual care.
