Lee Family News Enters a New Chapter Under Neapolitan Family Publishing

LEE COUNTY, Fla. (Dec. 1, 2025) — Lee County’s original and oldest family publication is entering an exciting new chapter. As of Dec. 1, Lee Family News magazine has been sold to Neapolitan Family Publishing LLC, a locally owned and independent magazine company serving Southwest Florida families.

“After more than 21 years in the magazine publishing business, I have decided to sell Lee Family News so I can begin a new chapter in my life,” said Kathy M. Kuser, publisher of Lee Family News and president of KMK Publishing Inc. “This choice comes from a desire to slow down, explore other personal interests, and—most importantly—spend more time with my grandchildren and family.”

Kuser added, “Running this magazine has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and I am truly grateful for the relationships and support we’ve received along the way. As I transition into retirement, I look forward to enjoying the moments I’ve often had to put on hold, while knowing Family News will continue to grow and excel with its new local owners, Jane MacNealy and Stacy Nicolau of Neapolitan Family Publishing, who will give it the same passion and dedication it deserves.”

Beginning with the January issue, Neapolitan Family Publishing will deliver a combined issue featuring content designed to appeal to families throughout Lee and Collier Counties, with additional developments planned throughout 2026.

Since 2000, Neapolitan Family has served parents with free print and digital publications in Collier County and adjacent parts of Lee County. Its offerings include award-winning editorial content, an extensive online calendar of events, a weekly “best events” newsletter, annual education and summer camp guides, Special Needs Resource publications, and popular back-to-school and camp fairs. Neapolitan Family is a proud member of the Parenting Media Association.

Lee Family News has served local families since 1991, and KMK Publishing Inc. acquired the monthly magazine in early 2004.

KMK Publishing Inc. will continue publishing Happenings Magazine, the award-winning monthly guide for Southwest Florida arts and entertainment, under the leadership of publisher and owner Jamie Kuser. Happenings Magazine has covered live theater, music, art, concerts, and cultural events throughout Lee, Collier, and Charlotte counties since 1995.
