Circle of Friends raises nearly $4,800 for the Collier Children’s Advocacy Center

Supporters of the Collier Children’s Advocacy Center (Collier CAC) came together in early November for the Circle of Friends Walk, an event hosted by Circle of Friends that raised $4,794 to support Collier CAC’s mission to help improve the lives of abused children here in Collier County.

A nonprofit that unites people, supports local causes and builds friendships, Circle of Friends, hosts walkathons, events and activities so people can experience a community where good deeds and friendships grow. Circle of Friends organized the walk to rally support for Collier CAC. Dozens of participants gathered at the Gordon River Greenway, stepping out for a cause that helps children access trauma-informed care and long-term support.

“We are deeply grateful to Circle of Friends and everyone who walked for Collier CAC,” said Jackie Stephens, CEO of Collier CAC. “Every dollar raised helps ensure that children in our community receive compassionate and specialized care, free of charge.”

The funds raised will help provide specialized medical examinations, connect children to therapy and advocacy, and support parent education programs that strengthen parenting skills and support long-term family stability.

About the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collier County

The Collier Children’s Advocacy Center is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the first point of care for children in Collier County when abuse is suspected. Since 1986, Collier CAC has provided forensic interviews, medical evaluations, therapy, family advocacy and parent education in one child-centered setting, reducing what could be up to six separate agency visits to a single coordinated response.

Collier CAC is the only organization in Collier County legally authorized to perform forensic medical exams for children under 12 and to deliver medical, court advocacy and therapeutic services under one roof. All services are provided free of charge, removing financial barriers so families can access support regardless of circumstance.

While the organization partners closely with the Department of Children and Families, law enforcement, the State Attorney’s Office and Collier County Public Schools, it is not a government agency. Collier CAC relies on community support to sustain and expand its work, as abuse occurs in every zip code.
