Leslie Hindman founded her eponymous auction house in Chicago in 1982, which grew to be one of the largest auction houses in the United States. In 2018, Leslie Hindman Auctioneers acquired Cowan's Auction house, founded by Wes Cowan in 1995, creating the foundation for Hindman Auctions.
